Research Facilities
Endocrine Lab. I have a full endocrine laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. This lab is specifically designed to analyse hormones (e.g. glucocorticoids, testosterone, thyroid hormones, etc.) in blood , feces, and hair. In addition to standard lab equipment there is a gamma counter, lyophilizer, refrigerated centrifuge, microplate washer and reader. There is also surgical equipment for work with small mammals and modified lab-based behavioral testing arenas for work in the field (e.g., Morris water mazes, elevated plus mazes, etc.). The student office (far right) and the lab (far left) also have great windows and a view!
SeaWater Facilities. I also have a full seawater system set-up at SMAST West (about 15min from main campus). This facility is set-up to run our marine intertidal work and is equipped with all things crabby, snaily, and musselly.
